Umer began his career as a tax associate at Grant Thornton LLP in 2010, where he quickly demonstrated his exceptional capabilities and leadership potential. Within just 12 years, he rose to the position of tax partner at Unity Business Advisors, Inc. (UBA), a prominent Lynnwood-based Certified Public Accounting firm.

Currently, Umer serves as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) and shareholder at UBA, where he is responsible for overseeing the firm's operational excellence while continuing to provide specialized tax planning expertise to his clients.

Umer's academic background sets the foundation for his success. He earned both his undergraduate degree in accounting and a master's degree in taxation from the University of Washington. This rigorous academic preparation allowed him to build a deep understanding of financial systems and tax regulations, equipping him with the expertise necessary to excel in the fast-paced world of accounting and tax advisory.

Upon completing his education, Umer obtained his Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license from the Washington State Board of Accountancy and went on to earn the Certified Tax Planner (CTP) certification from the American Institute of Certified Tax Planners, further distinguishing himself as a leading tax professional.

Under Umer's leadership, UBA has expanded its core services, focusing heavily on providing personalized tax planning solutions to small business owners. His strategic vision and ability to implement efficient processes have helped countless businesses navigate complex tax regulations and improve their financial health. Umer's work with small businesses and high-net-worth individuals has not only impacted individual clients but has also contributed to the overall economic strength of the local community.

In recognition of his professional and community accomplishments, Umer was recently honored in 425 Business's "40 Under 40" list and was named a finalist for the Businessman of the Year Award by the Lynnwood Chamber of Commerce. Outside of his professional commitments, Umer enjoys spending time with his wife, Unsa, and daughter, Izzah. He is an active sports enthusiast, having played in the Northwest Cricket League, and enjoys outdoor adventures like paragliding and scuba diving, with skydiving on his future agenda. Umer's dedication to professional growth and personal fulfillment makes him a dynamic leader in both his work and life.
